I have finally registered on the teahouse website. I was drawn to sit and be still today and read the posts.
I left WOMENSPEAK2007, speechless, in awe, in wonderment and with hope of tomorrow.
I was fortunate to offer to help sell scarves from Bolivia at WOMENSPEAK and met so many wonderful women during my time setting up the display and selling the beautiful handmade wonders. We were flooded with women from all over touching the scarves, trying them on, making comments about the beauty of the scarves, reading about the women in Bolivia who had learned this art as a means to provide financial support for their familie, and purchasing as many as their hands and necks would hold. I met women from Lubbock, TX who joined me at the table to sell the scarves and quickly I had new friends. Each scarf had a scripture verse written at the bottom and we stood around trying to name the verses. Just as WOMENSPEAK was about to commence with the opening with Paula D'Arcy I quickly purchased a scarf for myself and one for my daughter who would be leaving for college next year. The scarf I grabbed for myself was full of hearts and was verse John 3:16 For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten son.... The scarf I quickly picked for my daughter was Psalm 19. I didn't know this scripture.
When I was driving back to Austin after the conference the song from David Kauffman was all that sing. No words can say, no mouth can speak, The Glory of God that the heavens are shouting, and yet there is voice, yet there is speech, telling the glory of God.....
I was filled with awe and wonderment and just letting the last few days soak in. The next day I sent Paula an e-mail with No Words Can Say in the subject box. I thanked her for bringing WOMENSPEAK to life. Later that day I gave my daughter her scarf and she immediately loved it. And curiosity struck, so I looked up the bible verse and there were the words to the song by DavidKauffman, No words can say....... WOW!
This is just one of the many stories I have recounted from the event.
I am happy to be connected to the virtual tea house and look forward to more story telling and sharing.
Blessings,
